Incredibly sexy ;)

The skin on her hand is possibly a little too reflective; it's making it look a little too plastic.

The love heart on the finger nail is a very nice touch.

Thanks! :D You're right about the hand, I definitely should've lowered the glossiness. It's incredibly typical of me to get caught up in small details like fingernail hearts and forget to fix large things like excess skin gloss ><

Dogma. Ahhhhh what a classic.

Funny how this stuff never goes on Gaia. I'm just curious, what do you work on at Gaia?

These days mainly flash stuff. When Spork and I were first hired there a few years ago we were animating ring and monster effects for zOMG. Then when Scion came around with rally we did all the graphics prototyping, models, backgrounds etc for that. We also do most of the art and animation for aquariums, with the exception of tank decorations. The rejected olympics minigames were mostly done by us, as well as the prom dancing game XD Some of the event flash pieces were also us too (halloween for example). Back when towns wasn't in such need of updating we animated a bunch of event-related emotes for that too, like the swimming pools, snow balls, that sort of thing. We also did a lot of effects animation for the zOMG intro.

Once in awhile we'll crank out an item as well, but it's not our main focus. Spork's EI was the dandiidoodad and mine was the nano-c, but our main strength is flash =)

I could probably work my 3D stuff in more, but I don't think my style meshes particularly well with Gaia (especially considering most of the artists work primarily in 2D) and flash animators/"devigners" are in such short supply that I think most of my efforts are best spent there. Not that I mind, it's all fun for me :D

Haha, you should sneak in some of your music into the next event. I think it would be cool to have as like, "Menu BGM" or something like that.

I remember seeing some of your work in zOMG in your journal-- amazing stuff. I was part of the zETA group [or whatever the users called the Closed Beta testers]and I was shocked the awesome 3D effects in there.

My opinion of Nano-C: I think it was an awesome item [needs a recolor, if possible] with all the lasers and techno stuff, but it sometimes didn't fit with the 2D avy. I saw your 3D depictions of some of the poses [such as the legs] and discovered that there was no way you could possibly capture the quality of your 3D designs into a compact, 2D avatar. Regardless, I still find the item itself amazing and somewhat groundbreaking, mainly because you sorta brought more of a Techno-Robotic image to Gaia. And Lasers are still FTW.

I feel glad about telling you straight-up about the Nano, mainly because I was too afraid to post in the GCD, due to the fact that I might have gotten a rush of hate-comments about how the item shouldn't have been on Gaia at all or how I am apparently sucking up to the artist. Man, the GCD is a jungle, isn't it?

NOT-Gaia-Side-Note: Have you heard the new Pendulum single yet? It came out last week~

Yea it'd be nice to do more music for Gaia in my style. I've done a few tracks for them, e.g. the booty grab bgm, but they usually lean more on cutesy or standard videogame style than something I really like. "Club Ride" in the new garages was my doing too (with lyrics by my friend ~darkfong who also used to work on the art team). We never intended to use it on Gaia at all heh, it was just a silly parody that ended up there because enough people on the team thought it would be funny to inject in the update.

Thanks for the honest opinion on my EI =) It was definitely a learning experience for me. Though I'd assisted spork with rendering on her dandiidoodad, I never intended on actually doing a personal item project that big. It only came up when I drew a few concepts (which I rarely do, ha) for a MC that were liked but didn't really fit with that month's theme. So they suggested I do my own EI some day based on them. Eventually they asked me to do it so I said sure what the hell, why not. But then they told me it should be a premium 999 item...and I had no idea what I'd gotten myself into haha. So long story short, by the time I was done with it I'd finally kinda gotten the hang of it and could probably do a better job on the first 8 or so evos given the chance.

Most of the items actually were built in 3D then scaled down to avatar size. That's just how I roll, hehe (pretty clear from my gallery I suppose)...but the founders have always encouraged us artists to work in our own style rather than try to warp it to match the existing art, so I didn't worry too much about trying to make everything fit existing color schemes and aesthetic principles. Still, with the experience I've got now I think I could definitely keep my personal style and make it mesh a little better.

Yep, GCD and SF are pretty nuts. It's both a blessing and a curse to get so much immediate feedback that way, especially after working overtime to get an item (or anything else really) ready for an on-time release. It can be tough to filter out the constructive criticism from the useless biting comments deriding your efforts, and to strike a balance between catering to the users' wants and keeping with your own vision and style without becoming a total pushover to them. That's one reason it's nice to work on flash stuff too, I think the general expectations aren't so astronomical.

Haven't heard the new pendulum single, I'll check it out :D

Haha, interesting. I never would have thought that the Nano came from a rejected MC.

And yeah, sometimes the GCD can have some nice requests/constructive criticism, amidst all the haters...>.>

Crazy lighting, dude! I like how the pink light behind her is the source of most of the color in the piece.

hehe thanks tong! i've been having a lot of fun playing with photometric lights lately. despite being slightly more technical to implement than oldschool spot/omni/directional lights, i think their physical accuracy also makes them more intuitive and invites more opportunities for creative use =)
