. At the time I was playing with Artrage and trying to get back into doing more 2d painting. I really liked those girls he drew, so I just had to ask him - Mister Reeves, may I have the pleasure of adding some humble colors to your beautiful lines? And at that, he sent me the full-res version to have away at. Well, time went by, work interfered, excuses ensued... so eventually I decided to take advantage of my time off during the holidays and finish it!

Overall I think I could've pushed myself a little more. I'm starting to notice that I rely a lot on a basic lighting scheme that I'm familiar with, and things get fairly complicated when I get away from that. For example, I tried to light the rightmost girl mostly from the orb and a backlight to the left, but in shading I kept subconsciously adding in all sorts of ambient light. I suppose I'm least satisfied with the overall shape of the wood. Which reminds me, I must give due credit for crazy material ideas on her to ~the-crazy-spork - wood and shiny seashells. I think I would have made it metal, metal, and metal.

This was also a lil project to kickstart myself into working on more personal projects next year, and being active in a gaia guild (read: forum) that ~the-crazy-spork and I decided to start for artists like us: [link]
